Charlotte is an experienced compliance and ethics professional whose educational background focused on medical law, particularly the legislation and code for the UK pharmaceutical industry.
She entered the compliance arena in 2004, joining Eli Lilly in the UK as their first dedicated compliance lead outside the USA. Initially, her role focused on ensuring adherence to the ABPI Code of Practice and the company’s newly-created global compliance policies. However, her role soon expanded beyond a medical focus to include the implementation of Eli Lilly’s anti-corruption ethics and compliance function. Charlotte played a leading role in this area, with the UK affiliate setting the standard for the organisation.
In 2010, Charlotte joined Grünenthal to lead their compliance function in the UK and provide significant support to the newly appointed Chief Compliance Officer, as compliance had only recently become a priority for the company. Within 15 months, Charlotte successfully designed and implemented Grünenthal’s compliance programme, driving substantial improvements in the company’s overall culture.
In her last in-house role, Charlotte headed up compliance and ethics for the UK, Irish and German markets at Bristol-Myers Squibb, where she was an EMEA Associate Director. This included not only managing the compliance programmes for 3 countries but also being a strategic lead for EMEA in all compliance and ethics-related matters.
In 2014, Charlotte wanted to extend the breadth of the pharmaceutical industry to which she could contribute her experience and expertise. Chris brings with him a strong scientific background and over 20 years of pharmaceutical industry experience. He began his career in Discovery Chemistry at Lilly, intent on developing innovative treatments to improve patients’ lives.
Having contributed to the development of numerous clinical candidates, a move into the ethics and compliance arena might seem an unusual step. However, at the heart of this change was a continued desire to see patients get the treatments they need by ensuring that the promotion of medicines is done in an ethical and appropriate manner.
Chris is passionate about compliance and loves working with new people. With a long track record of training provision and new process roll-outs, he is also a dedicated auditor with an eye for detail and recent experience in internal and mock regulatory body audits. He has experience working within large and small companies and remote engagements with academic groups.
